PaPaYa! is hosting fine artist Paul Heussenstamm this year. Paul is world renowned both as an extraordinary painter as well as a deeply committed teacher. (Yes that water lilly really IS a painting!) He teaches around the world in a non-stop creative process both with students and his "Art as a Spiritual Path".
Paul has been featured in movies (like the Last Mimzy) and internationally recognized as one of the leading sacred art painters in the Western world. This three day painting retreat will enable even first time painters to experience the joy and depth of sacred art traditions while learning art secrets of Eastern artists. Paul is an invaluable instructor sharing a great depth of knowledge and enthusiasm for art traditions and the human spirit. I have attended two workshops with Paul. One four day retreat and one week long intensive on Kauai, HI. Paul creates an incredible atmosphere of learning and exploration while supporting transformation through painting. His teaching style sheds light on Tibetan Tankas and sacred art from around the globe.

This is the image I painted with Paul In Kauai last January. It is four feet high. Thanks to Paul I had the patience to explore new patience and styles.

And this was made in Portland Area at another retreat with Paul. This was a love Mandala and the picture doesn't do it justice. It was the first painting I had done in many years. Thank you Paul!
